Within Buchanan County, there are over 150 cemeteries or burial sites. Some stand alone, such as the grave of William Wallingford in a field outside of DeKalb, while others cover huge swaths of land and contain tens of thousands of graves.

What began in 2019 as an effort to accurately record the locations of these cemeteries has expanded. Within this project, you will find all things cemetery- maps, walking and virtual tours, histories of the cemeteries, and the stories of some of those buried within.
